First Aid Plymouth’s FAQ

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. To help you with some of the frequent asked questions, please see the FAQ below.

Who Manages First Aid Plymouth?

First Aid Plymouth is a family run business that operates all over the South West. Indie Lyndale and her team of highly qualified instructors have taught 1000’s of people first aid. We now have a network of instructors operating in all major cities across South England

What Qualifications Do Our Instructors Have?

All instructors hold a current, First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification and have extensive first aid instructor training. This combines the HSE recognised first aid instructor training syllabus with a relevant teacher training qualification. This varies from instructor to instructor depending on their individual background but we pride ourselves on our team and their enthusiasm for what they teach. Our outdoor instructors all have practical experience working in the outdoors and have real life experience of first aid emergencies in remote locations.

Will I Get A Qualification?

All candidates completing a first aid course of 6 hours or more will receive a Level 3, nationally recognised, accredited qualification that is valid for 3 years from the date you train.
As some employers and institutions still require externally regulated qualifications, we offer this as an extra on all of our courses. Should you wish for your qualification to be processed in this way charge an additional £15 per person which is the admin charge to us to process your certificate through the FAA (First Aid Awards)

Where do you run your courses?

We run first aid courses in various venues depending on your group size and requirements. As most of our courses are tailored to your exact requirements, often the venue we use will reflect this. For example some of our courses may involve a wilderness module so we will use a venue that can provide this.
We can also run first aid courses in your place of work to make things easier for you.
Let us know your requirements and we can accommodate.

Can I Do 1 To 1 Courses?

The smallest group we work with is 2 candidates.
This is to ensure you get effective training that you can use when it really counts. Having people in your group means we are able to set up scenarios for you to respond to.
If you are on your own and are looking to train in first aid we would recommend you join one of our already running courses.

Do I Need Any Prior Knowledge?

You need no prior knowledge. We are happy to teach first aid to anybody as this incredible skill can help you save lives. We get many return clients for refresher courses so if your certificate is up for renewal get in touch as we have great return client offers.

How Long Are The Days?

We run courses from 3 hours to 3 days.
If you are participating on a fully comprehensive first aid course. Each day will run for a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 8 hours.

How Long Does The First Aid Qualification Last?

All full day and above courses will provide you with a qualification that is valid for 3 years from the date you train.
